Design For Society: Storyboard

Storyboard Idea Three for the Second Storyboard.

I have completed the rough design of the second storyboard. This one is more focused on telling the audience what to do if a low energy light bulb breaks. Here its is..

I'm not too sure how I feel about this storyboard. It's a lot busier and has more going on, it's also a lot longer than the first. The part that I'm not sure about is having the rubber gloves in the background for a bit and the vacuum bit, it seems too similar to the bit before with the broom. Everything else seems fine to me. My favourite part out is the last bit, or the green section. I feel that that bit is more like 'The Girl Effect' film that I saw at Bradford. And so I may take both of the storyboards and simplify it even more, make the objects in them less like photos and more like flat images with some sort of texture so that it doesn't feel completely flat but gives them a richness. Just like the green background I have used.

Design For Society: Storyboard

Third Rough Idea!

So I've done another rough storyboard, this time on Macromedia Fireworks using various images off Google and text so that I could get a quick result and visualisation. I keep looking at my past two storyboards for reference. I have only done the first storyboard out the two that I plan to do. The text I have used on this storyboard isn't definite, I'm yet to play with that (will most probably be when I've sorted out the content and compositions within of the storyboard). Here it is..

Overall I'm very happy with this storyboard, its very simple but I feel that the simpleness makes it effective. It puts the information out clearly and easily for the audience to understand. I'm really glad that I've managed to keep to a limited colour scheme which adds to the boldness of the storyboard. The only thing I'm not too sure about is how clear some of the writing will be to read because of the what is going on behind the text. Now I need to try to do the second storyboard, make some tweaks, get some opinions from various people, make the suitable changes and then work out how I'm going to animate the text.

The Message: Character Behaviour, Character Design Rendered

I've finally got round to rendering my character. I did this digitally using Macromedia Fireworks and various images of cloth skin, hair etc. This is the outcome..

I am very happy with how it turned out. It's exactly the look and feel I was going for with the use of different textures and patterns that isn't in your face. And he looks like a farmer!

Design For Society: Storyboard Thoughts

After pulling up the images of my first storyboard idea and the images of my second its very clear to see that although the second one has the right information and content, the first one is much more visually interesting. So I'm going to try and combine the words from my second storyboard with the images in the first. I'm also going to try to split the second storyboard up so that I have two separate ones like I did with my first idea.
